POLAR BEAR PLUNGE SET TO MAKE WAVES ON FEBRUARY 27
Seaside Heights Event Benefits Athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey
Seaside Heights, NJ (November 2, 2009) - Online registration is now open for New Jersey's premier winter beach event - The 17th Annual Polar Bear Plunge benefiting Special Olympics New Jersey. This year's event takes place in Seaside Heights outside of the Aztec Ocean Resort on Saturday, February 27. More than 3,000 people are expected to take the Plunge that, last year, raised nearly $1 million for the athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey.
Incentives for plungers include an event sweatshirt for every participant with their $100 entrance fee. (While supplies last.) The earlier a plunger registers, the easier it is to find friends, family members and colleagues to sponsor their plunge, and bring them to a higher incentive level to receive additional gifts like an embroidered bag and robe.
The Polar Bear Plunge is a Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey event, presented by the NJ State PBA, the Aztec Ocean Resort and NJ 101.5, and supported by Seaside Heights Business and Tourism, Casino Pier, and Jenkinson's Breakwater Beach.
Proceeds for the Plunge benefit the more than 18,000 Special Olympics athletes that train and compete year-round throughout New Jersey.
