On May 17, 2019, beginning at 5pm on the Boardwalk in Seaside Heights, Greg Kohr, owner of Kohr’s Frozen Custard, The Original, has announced a celebration in honor of his 100 year Anniversary.  To celebrate this occasion and as a thank you to all of his loyal customers, Greg Kohr will have a Country Music Celebration on the Franklin Avenue Stage on the Boardwalk.  Country Music Stars Matt Kennon and Bryan White will perform beginning at 5pm.   Kaptain Jack of JerseyShoreCountry.com will host the event.  JerseyShoreCountry.com is the official Country internet radio station of Seaside Heights, with its studios on the Boardwalk.

“My Grandfather started this business in 1919 with his Brothers in Coney Island, NY.”  I am proud to carry on his legacy and can’t wait to celebrate 100 years in the business”.  There is no better way to celebrate then to have a big party with my loyal customers, give out free custard and dance to some great Country Music” said Greg Kohr.

Kohr’s Frozen Custard, The Original, will give out free custard for all to enjoy from 5pm-7pm at the Boardwalk & Franklin Ave. location. In addition, all proceeds from the remaining hours will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Greg’s Grandfather, Elton Kohr, came up with the idea of adding egg yolks to ice cream so it would not melt as fast.  That is now known as Frozen Custard!  Elton Kohr went on to open stores in Pennsylvania as well as the Jersey Shore.  Asbury Park, Seaside Heights, Atlantic City and Point Pleasant all were homes to Kohr’s Frozen Custard.  He also had locations in Maine, Delaware, Texas and California.  Kohr’s Frozen Custard could also be found at 12 different fairs in Pennsylvania.  Greg Kohr currently owns 3 stores in Seaside Heights, 1 in Seaside Park, 1 in Ortley Beach, and 1 in Lavallette, NJ.
